Kogi State Plans Trauma Center Along The Okene-Lokoja- Abuja Highway

The Deputy Governor of the state, Mr.
Yomi Awoniyi, in a statement said the
Kogi State Government will establish a
trauma centre along the Okene-Lokoja-
Abuja highway to attend to accident
victims.
Awoniyi made the statement during the
visit of the new Sector Commander of the
Federal Road Safety Corps in the state,
Mr. Charles Abochi. Awoniyi explained
that they had to establish the trauma
centre due to the high level of vehicle
accidents being recorded on daily on the
road.
The deputy governor said the SURE-P
Hospital at Osara would be converted
and re-equipped to serve as the trauma
centre.
Awoniyi promised that the state
government would support the FRSC to
reduce road accidents.
