Gov Ayade Turns Heat On Civil Servants

New Governor of Cross River State,
Senator Ben Ayade has turned the heat
on the civil servants as he wants them to
resume at 8am every working day.
He started the enforcement of
punctuality on Monday, his first day at
work, when he locked out some of the
workers who resumed late. He later
pardoned them and said henceforth
lateness to work would not be tolerated.
The action which left everyone in the
state wondering, was, however
welcomed by some while others do not
find the development funny.
With four days running, MEDIANIGERIA
noted that gates of ministries are now
shut at 8am to enable security personnel
check late commers.
On Thursday morning, the main gate to
a secretariat located along a major
highway was crowded with human and
vehicular traffic while checks by security
personnel lasted.
On Tuesday Governor Ayade had issued
a circular through the Ministry of
Information stating the direction of his
administration. These include: Executive
Council meetings to hold once a month
instead of weekly as was the case in the
past, the dissolution of the taskforce on
illegal logging, sanitary workers to clean
up garbage in the night, salaries to be
paid on the 25th of every month and lots
more.
