FA Cup: Arsenal Beat Aston Villa In Final
Arsenal defeated Aston Villa in the FA
Cup in Wembley 4-0 to claim the trophy
a record 12th time
They spent nine years without winning a
trophy, but a 3-2 win over Hull City last
year gave them their 11th FA Cup title
and broke the nine-years barren spell.
Since then, a Charity Shied has also been
won.
After failing yet again to mount a serious
Premier League and UEFA Champions
League title, Arsenal had Aston Villa and
some certain Psychic Penguins on their
way to their second consecutive FA Cup
and record 12th.
Theo Walcott first half strike, Alexis
Sanchez , Per Mertesacker and Olivier
Giroud second half goal gave them
victory over Aston Villa to hand them the
FA Cup.
Aston Villa started the game brightly and
Arsenal goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny
had to come out of his line to clear a
dangerous ball into the box.
Arsenal however came into the game
and was rewarded as Walcott pounced
on a loosed ball inside Villa’s 18-yard-
box to score the first justifying his start
ahead of Giroud.
Arsenal started the second half like they
ended the first and in no time got their
second through Sanchez.
The Chilean cut in from the left to fire a
thunderbolt past Villa goalkeeper, Shay
Given .
Mertesacker added a third, heading in a
corner before Giroud flicked a pass
beyond Given for Arsenal’s fourth.
