
    A 24-year-old electrician has been sent to prison for breaking into a church and stealing the offering.

 28-year-old electrician, Charles Edward, has been sentenced to prison 
by an Abuja Magistrate Court for breaking into a church and stealing the offering money and other items including

 money totalling N6,440, and other valuable items including one ‘32’ LG 
TV, one speaker, one decoder, one dish, and two remote controls.
Edward,
 according to the prosecutor, Kelechi Echendu, had broken into the 
church located at Dutse Makaranta, Bwari Area Council of the FCT, by 
damaging a slide window and stole the items.
Echendu
 told the court that the pastor of the church, Timothy Booge, had, on 
May 14, complained at Dutsen Alhaji Police Station of how the accused 
broke into the Deeper Life Bible Church auditorium located at Jabu 
village in Dutse Makaranta and stole their money and items.
Delivering
 his judgment, Magistrate Chukwuemeka Nweke sentenced Edward to one 
month imprisonment without an option of a fine after he pleaded guilty 
to the charges of criminal trespass, house breaking and theft.
