Osinbajo Unfolds Buhari’s Policy Direction

NIGERIA’S Vice President, Yemi
Osinbajo, has given insights into the
priorities of the Muhammadu Buhari
administration.
Osinabjo disclosed this in an interview
with SaharaTV .
He said the administration’s focus would
be on “security, corruption, and the
economy”.
According to him, the administration
would take security seriously and added
that the concerns concerning the Niger
Delta are important.
He stated that the administration would
be at “the forefront of addressing issues
affecting all ethnic minorities and
tensions.”
On the economy and corruption,
Osinbajo addressed several issues
including the fuel scarcity, and the
missing $20 billion from the Central
Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
On fuel subsidies, Osinbajo stated that
the administration is currently
“undecided about the implementation of
subsidies and would soon respond to the
downstream sector.”
He also stated that he wanted to see a
disciplined government and address
voter concerns about the huge cost of
government, adding that Buhari would
certainly address the $20 billion
allegedly missing in the Nigerian
Treasury.
On the religion and politics, Osinbajo
stated that Biblically, God has always
been interested in leadership and tried
to appoint good leaders for the Israelites.
Going personal, Osinbajo said that on a
good night with his wife he would prefer
a stroll on the beach to a movie.
He also said he strongly prefers taking
ice cream to cake, adding that he liked to
wear native clothing and is extremely
comfortable wearing a kaftan and
trousers.
He affirmed his status as a politician and
a family man, saying that reading and
playing with children were his fvourite
hobbies.
