Nestle USA to remove Artificial Flavors and Cut Salt Amidst Health Concerns



Nestle USA said it would remove
artificial flavors and reduce salt by 10%
in its frozen pizza and snack products by
the end of this year.
The United States arm of Swiss food giant,
Nestle is set to cut artificial flavours and
salt from some of its products amidst
growing health concerns that artificial
colors and flavors could cause health
problems.

According to Reuters , the move will
include more than 250 products sold
under the Digiorno, Tombstone, California
Pizza Kitchen, Jack’s, Hot Pocket and Lean
Pockets brands.
The company also said it would also
provide tips on healthy eating on the
packaging on these products.
In February, it had said it would remove
artificial flavors and certified colors
from its chocolate products, such as
Butterfinger and Baby Ruth bars, by the
end of the year.
In April, Coke had also announced that it
would remove sweeteners from its Diet
Coke amidst growing health concerns
about artificial sweetners.
