FG To Stripe David Mark And Ekweremadu Of Official Vehicles, Security

It was said that the senators drove out of
the complex in their personal vehicles
without siren.
Following the valedictory session to
mark the end of the seventh Senate on
Thursday, June 4, the outgoing Senate
President, David Mark, and his deputy,
Ike Ekweremadu reportedly left the
National Assembly complex without their
usual convoy.
It was said that the senators drove out of
the complex in their personal vehicles
without siren, leaving their exotic
official vehicles parked at the parking
spaces allocated to the offices of the
principal officers.
Officially, the two officers have five
vehicles each in their convoy, which
consists of two principal vehicles, two
security vehicles; two pilot pick up vans
and two power motorbikes.
According to a Senate committee clerk,
the principal officers were meant to
drop their fleet of vehicles as it belongs
to the National Assembly.
“The vehicles are the property of the
National Assembly and the Clerk of the
National Assembly, being the Chief
Accounting Officer, will account for all
the vehicles. Hence, the man waited
after the session to take possession of the
vehicles,” the clerk told Punch
anonymously.
