Kidnapped Kogi Commissioner Rescued By Police



Mayaki was kidnapped alongside six
others at Osara village in Adavi council,
while they were resolving a land dispute.
The Kogi state Commissioner for Lands
and Housing, Stephen Maiyaki, who was
kidnapped on May 30 has been rescued
by the state Police.
His rescue was announced on Thursday,
June 4.
In a statement, the Police Public
Relations Officer, Shola Adebayo said
that Maiyaki was rescued at 2a.m. from
the kidnappers’ hideout at Abobo village
in Adavi Local Government Area of the
state.
Mayaki was kidnapped alongside six
others at Osara village in Adavi council,
while they were resolving a land dispute.
The statement said Maiyaki has reunited
with his family, but nothing was said
about the six other persons
Also, the police was mute about the
whereabouts of the state High Court
Judge, Justice Samuel Obayomi , who was
abducted in the same local government
area on May 25.
