Don’t Expect Buhari To Perform Magic, Ganduje Tells Nigerians

Kano-Deputy-Ggovernor-Dr.-GandujeKano State governor-elect, Eng. Umar Ganduje, yesterday pleaded with Nigerians to persevere with the incoming government under the leadership of Muhammadu Buhari, adding that normalising the country will take some time in view of the massive decay of infrastructure occasioned by years of corruption.
Ganduje said this during a session with journalists in Yola, noting that the president can only succeed if he is given unflinching support and understanding by all Nigerians.
He noted that with Buhari steering the ship of the Nigerian nation, every part of the country will have a feel of good leadership as developmental projects will be taken to every nook and cranny of the country.
He advised incoming governors to cut the cost of governance, block leakages in their internally generated revenue and explore more sources of revenue generation for their states in view of the financial crunch facing the country.
“The realities are there for every state government to see. There is bound to be diversification of the economy as well as cutting down of expenses and doing away with those things that are not necessary in meeting the needs of our people,” he noted.
Ganduje also promised to continue the projects left behind by his predecessor as he shares his vision and ideals.
“Kwankwaso’s vision for the state is intact. My administration will continue from where my boss will stop on 29th May Insha Allah”, he said.
He noted that lack of continuity in governance is mainly responsible for the setbacks encountered in many states, adding that it was responsible for relegating many important and life-touching projects to the background.
He urged his colleagues to ensure unity by carrying everybody along irrespective of political coloration in the implementation of programs that will impact on the lives of the citizenry.
